TAFs and METARs has been created by a small group of aviators, both military and civilian, who saw the need to keep information about weather and its predicted activity as up to date as possible. The Internet is full of websites offering this information, but we are not all ways near a computer, but most people have a mobile phone and the ability to send and receive SMS text messages. All though using mobile phones in the aircraft is not recommended, messages can be sent before take off and the system is built to reply with any available information as soon as possible.

TAFs and METARs saw the need for this information to be available at a more appropriate price, our charges are kept as low as possible and reflect the bare minimum we need to charge to keep the service running.
