TAFs and METARs Services and Pricing Information

This page is here to help explain the full charges that you would incur by using the services offered by TAFs and METARs. These are separate for members and non members and are listed as such below.

Online Services (Non Members)

TAF and METAR search form: Free to use the form on the TAFs and METARs index page to search for weather information for a given ICAO Code that is available at the time of request.

Mobile Services (Non Members)

Info Request from 60300 shortcode: Your request at standard rate text message, network dependent, a successful response is 25p per text, some weather information can be longer than one text message.

Online Services (Members)

TAF and METAR search form: Free to use the form on the TAFs and METARs index page.
Credit your online balance: TAFs and METARs uses Paypal to allow members to credit there account with funds, Paypal charges are applied to credits of less than £10, these are currently 3.4% of amount plus 20p, if you credit more than £10 then these fees are waived.
Send an SMS message: You can send a message from the members area at a cost of 12p* per message, deducted from your online account, the person receives the message with your mobile number as the sender, not the TAFs and METARs website.
Create an online phone book: Members can add their frequently used mobile numbers to the online system to save time when sending messages from the members area.
Request a TAF or METAR to be sent to your phone: This service removes the need for you to send a message at your standard rate, you fill out the online form and the information is sent your mobile, at a costs of 12p* per message.
Earn credit by recommending other people: You can increase your online credit by recommending us to other people, existing members will receive a bonus credit, should they recommend other users who become subscribers.
*Extra discount for military personnel*: Members of the Armed Forces will pay less per message they receive from the TAFs and METARs system.
Close your account anytime: Should you no longer wish to use the services provided by TAFs and METARs you can close your account at any time and all the money you have credited but not used or been credited with by TAFs and METARs will be refunded to you.

Mobile Services (Members)

Keep informed of your balance: You can receive text messages when your balance runs low, allowing you to top up your balance and always have access to weather information from TAFs and METARs.
*Extra discount for military personnel*: Members of the Armed Forces will pay less per message they receive from the TAFs and METARs system.
Confirmation of Information: Should a member request a TAF or METAR using an ICAO code and no information is available, you can choose to be informed either by email or SMS message, 12p* per time, or both.
